‘The Alabaster Box’
From Matthew 26:7, Matthew 2:15 and Revelation 4:8c: 6th Century Roman Half-uncial executed on 18” x 24” Strathmore paper (characteristically reminiscent of having qualities similar to a sheep skin used for lettering the ancient writs in the early centuries after the Savior’s death and Resurrection). Done in alabaster white, brown, gold and sepia inks. The piece is double-matted in white cream with white lining and dark cream with sepia lining encased by a simple 1.5” black wooden frame – 22” x 28” – in order to accent the writ’s subtleties with Museum Glass covering.
