‘Still Waters’
From Psalm 23: 6th Century Roman Half-uncial executed on 18” x 24” Strathmore paper (characteristically reminiscent of having qualities similar to a sheep skin used for lettering the ancient writs in the early centuries after the Savior’s death and Resurrection). Done in alabaster white, brown, forest green, gold, grass green and sepia India inks. Near-top-central is the ‘Still Waters’ lettered like water lily leaves designed to cover the iridescent blue pond waters with two water lilies shown on the right and left. The piece is slightly raised on thin foam board, lying on a black suede mat as an antiquity piece would be shown, encased by a mildly ornate frame – 22” x 28” – to accent the writ’s subtleties with Museum Glass covering.
